"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ...who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Kendall Morgan: "God has held my hand through many of life's challenges, especially as I walked alongside my brother during his struggle with ALS and my mother and mother-in-law as they confronted the challenges of cancer. Grieving became part of my daily life during those difficult years, and the love, encouragement and support my family received from Christ, either directly or through others serving as His hands and feet, was a beacon of light to my family. It is a joy and blessing to have the opportunity to pass along the light and HOPE of God's love to others and remind them they are not alone."

Nancy Wells: "Cancer is hard. It affects not only the life of the patient but family members as well. I walked through this difficult time with my brother-in-law, sister, father and mother. The spiritual and emotional support received through phone calls, cards and prayers during their illnesses were such an encouragement to all and seemed to come at just the right time. Later, after receiving a cancer diagnosis of my own, I often had the opportunity to talk with other patients as we awaited treatments and was able to share the hope, strength and joy that God so faithfully provides in the good and bad times. Abounding Light Ministries will provide a way to continue sharing words of encouragement to others in a difficult season, as well as the privilege to pray for patients and their families, knowing that God is our refuge and strength, AND the Great Physician!"

Susan Barnhill: "I chose to be a part of Abounding Light Ministries because I know firsthand how hard and lonely it can be facing cancer. Walking with my husband and my daughter through their struggles with cancer, I saw how discouraging it can be. A word of encouragement or a small reminder of someone thinking of them was so appreciated. ALM understands the need for consistent support. Sharing the comfort God has shared with me is my personal desire. Abounding Light is a conduit for God's comfort to others."

Pam Holdrup: "I have always tried to be an encourager, like my Dad aka “Mr. Sunshine”, seeing what a difference a smile or kind word can make in someone’s day. Since recently meeting an inspiring group of women who were serving cancer patients, I have felt God’s tug on my heart to start a similar ministry of encouragement in my community. Many of my immediate family members have dealt with cancer or other major diseases, and I have witnessed God “showing up” for us continually; His light truly shines in the darkness but sometimes we just need to be reminded to look for it. I felt led to start ALM so that we could share the comfort God has given me and my loved ones by giving a listening ear, reassuring those suffering that they are not alone, to remind them of God’s truth and promises so that their spirits may be brightened and that they may know the hope that is in Christ Jesus. I am so excited to serve with wonderful likeminded women, with hearts for God and for others and to “hang on” and see what God has in store for this ministry and for those we support."

Stephanie Schreffler: "As a three time cancer survivor and a stem cell transplant recipient, I have experienced the power of prayer as well as the peace in the acceptance of God’s will. Additionally, I have been on the sidelines of breast cancer, fallopian tube cancer and ALS as a family member. Each journey although similar in difficulty is different, the one constant I have experienced and observed is how important faith and encouragement is during this most trying time. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be able to support and encourage others as they journey."
